The Republican Party of North Carolina The Republican Party of North Carolina

Today, North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP) Chairman Robin Hayes met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office and discussed the North Carolina Republican Party's ongoing efforts to support the Trump policy agenda and the path to victory in North Carolina in 2018 and 2020. He also had lunch with White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and White House Political Director Bill Stepien. Hayes was part of a small group of GOP State Chairs from high performing states that have built some of the most successful turnout models.

“It’s an honor to represent North Carolina Republicans in the Oval Office," said Chairman Hayes. “I took the opportunity to remind President Trump of all the hard work our state's activists have done so far, and their continued dedication to successful Republican governance. Our county leaders, precinct chairs, and volunteers knocked on a record 2.3 million doors and made 2.8 million phone calls for Republicans in North Carolina in 2016. President Trump knows as well as I do that none of this would have been possible without them."

Chairman Hayes and President Trump also discussed policy, focusing on North Carolina’s economic turnaround led by state Republican initiatives. Our tax reform and regulatory reform have yielded impressive job growth and budget surpluses, allowing for more investments in critical needs like education and transportation.

Chairman Hayes and the other chairs then briefed the President on their plans and efforts to build on the 2016 successes and make 2018 even better. The White House staff said they are looking forward to working with Chairman Hayes and the North Carolina Republican Party to build constituencies across the state.

“We all know we have to build on 2016 to win in 2018,” said Hayes“President Trump was a great partner in 2016, and we’re all committed to working hard and supporting his efforts to 'Make America Great Again.'"
