ICYMI - Candidate Cooper Now Trying to Blame His Health Insurance Pals for Governor Cooper’s 57% Increase in Healthcare Costs in NC

After wasting $5M on two ads that didn’t do jack squat to help him any, Candidate Cooper is now trying to reinvent himself as something other than Best Pals with health insurance companies. After watching NC healthcare costs go up by 57% during Governor Cooper’s 8 years in office, Candidate Cooper is scrambling to blame someone other than himself.

So, after years and years of cozy relationships with health insurance companies, and after taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign donations from those same companies, Candidate Cooper is now trying to blame them for Governor Cooper’s failures in office.

Governor Cooper and Candidate Cooper have been all too happy to take hundreds of thousands of dollars from health insurance executives and their PACs. Candidate Cooper has sucked in over $160k from health insurers this cycle alone. Governor Cooper was too cozy with health insurance companies and that’s why health costs in NC are the worst in the United States. Yet, Candidate Cooper is trying to fool working families in North Carolina that now he’s gonna fight the folks who have bankrolled his career as a career politician.

“Candidate Cooper is desperately trying to hide the fact that Governor Cooper was too cozy with big health insurance companies and that’s why health costs rose by 57% when Cooper was governor. Now he expects North Carolinians to believe he’s going to crack down on the health insurance companies who have bankrolled his career. North Carolina families can’t afford 6 more years of Roy Cooper cozying up to health insurance executives while their prices go through the roof,” said Whatley spokesman DJ Griffin.
