Michael Whatley and Law Enforcement Officials Call Out Governor Cooper’s Extensive Soft-on-Crime Record in Alamance County

ALAMANCE COUNTY – Today, Michael Whatley hosted a press conference alongside local leaders and law enforcement leaders to discuss how Roy Cooper’s soft on crime agenda endangered our communities and hurt our families. The law enforcement officers also detailed why some of the largest law enforcement organizations in North Carolina are supporting Whatley over Cooper.

Whatley, sheriffs, and local leaders discussed how Governor Cooper always appointed soft-on-crime judges and emphasized Cooper’s disastrous decision to release more than 4,200 convicted criminals from prison, 50% of which went on to commit further crimes.

Whatley was joined by Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson,Randolph County Sheriff Greg Seabolt, Davidson County Sheriff Richie Simmons, NC Senator Amy Galey, and NC Representative Dennis Riddell.

“Roy Cooper has the blood of 25 North Carolinians on his hands. There are 25 families that will never see their loved ones again because he let 4,200 convicted criminals out of prison. Cooper stood against our police and our communities, allowing convicted criminals to run free while our families suffered the consequences,” said Michael Whatley.
