On Saturday June 8th, delegates at the North Carolina Republican Party Convention elected Michael Whatley to serve a two-year term as the new Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party.
"This is victory for all our North Carolina Republican activists this weekend," stated Chairman-Elect Michael Whatley, an energy consultant in Gaston County. "As we enter the most important election cycle in our lifetime, we'll hit the ground running building the Party infrastructure, fundraising, and training volunteers in order to re-elect President Trump and deliver for all of our candidates up and down the ballot."
Miriam Chu was elected as Vice Chair of the North Carolina Republican Party.
"I can't wait to get started working on behalf of North Carolina Republicans," said Chu, a retired technical services manager and contractor. "I've been reaching out to Republicans across the state for years to help build the relationships that make victory possible. I look forward to working with Chairman-Elect Whatley in what will be the most important election cycle of our lives. We win when we work together."
"Congratulations to the new Chairman and Vice Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, Michael Whatley and Miriam Chu," stated Acting Chairman Aubrey Woodard. "The Party will look to unify behind them and we all look forward to their leadership as we go in to the 2019 municipal elections and the 2020 presidential election cycle."
