NCGOP Chairman Michael Whatley's Statement on Governor Roy Cooper's School Reopening Plan and Continued Lockdown

"It's groundhog day here in North Carolina. Governor Cooper is continuing his one size fits all approach to COVID-19 that fits nobody," NCGOP Chairman Michael Whatley said. "North Carolina small businesses and families are in the midst of an ongoing lockdown with no end in sight as Cooper has failed to develop any plan to reopen the economy safely. Even worse, after weeks of kicking the can down the road, he has now announced a school plan that will treat all schools in all counties the same and force students and parents to completely reconfigure their school weeks without taking any of the local conditions into account.”
