Today Marks a Month of Josh Stein Refusing to Defend Law Enforcement While His Allies Continue to Push to Defund the Police

Raleigh NC- Exactly one month ago today, the Democrat-controlled Minneapolis City Council ignited anew radical liberal cause de jour, defund the police and Democrat North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein has complicity stood by as this dangerous idea has caught fire with his Democrat allies across the nation and even in North Carolina. 

Most recently, the Democrat-controlled City of New York stripped over a billion dollars from law enforcement. Right here in North Carolina, North Carolina Democrats have explicitly called for defunding the police and Democrat elected officials in multiple North Carolina cities have sought to enact this radical policy. Even though he is the chief law enforcement officer of the state, Stein has refused to defend our police. Apparently, pleasing the national Democrats who have gone all in to fund his reelection campaign and his fellow North Carolina Democrat elected officials is a higher priority than protecting North Carolinians.

"Josh Stein's liberal allies across the country and all over North Carolina are working to defund the police, and Josh Stein remains silent," said NCGOP Spokesman Tim Wigginton."Jim O'Neil is a tough but fair prosecutor who will defend local law enforcement while Democrat Josh Stein has shown he’ll sell them out for political expediency. We need elected officials who will defend the police, not work to defund them."
