Roy Cooper Still Doesn't Have A Plan To Stop The Riots
June 1, 2020
For Immediate Release
RALEIGH NC- Last night, the riots spread beyond Raleigh and Charlotte to Wilmington, Greenville, Greensboro, and Asheville. The lawlessness even spread to the North Carolina Supreme Court. Meanwhile, Roy Cooper sat idly by and apparently still has no plan to prevent the violence and lawlessness from spreading.
Republican leaders across North Carolina have both condemned the senseless killing of George Floyd and called for the restoration of law and order. Speaker Tim Mooreimmediately called on Governor Cooper to deploy the National Guard as he witnessed the Raleigh streets burning firsthand. Also, today Senator Phil Berger released a lengthy statement highlighting Cooper’s failure to prepare for the riots and his continued failure to take decisive action to put an end to vandalism, violence, and looting.
"What is Roy Cooper's plan to protect our communities from the radicals hijacking these protests yet again?" said Tim Wigginton NCGOP Press Secretary. "How many more buildings will he allow to burn and livelihoods to be destroyed before he'll begin to act decisively to protect the law-abiding citizens of North Carolina.?"
