Roy Cooper Is Throwing Away At Least 150 Million Dollars
June 3rd, 2020
For Immediate Release
RALEIGH NC - It is a sad day for all of North Carolina, especially the business community and residents of greater Charlotte because Roy Cooper single-handedly pulled the plug on the Republican Convention coming to Charlotte. This unilateral action is yet another in a long series of hypocritical behaviors and Cooper’s failure to lead competently, provide certainty, and give transparency.
Governor Cooper is either remarkably incompetent or this was his aim the entire time. How difficult would it have been for his administration to provide the basic guidelines, assurances, and numbers the RNC asked for? He may be high-fiving his left-wing comrades in the mansion thinking he stuck it to the President, the RNC, and NCGOP, but we are not Cooper’s real victims here. While this certainly isn’t the outcome any of us wanted, we will all adapt and make sure the President and the convention participants have a suitable and safe celebration of the nomination. But the Charlotte small businesses (hotels, restaurants, and bars to name a few) that have suffered under Governor Cooper’s prolonged shutdown are the ones dealt the big blow by Cooper’s partisan warfare.
