Attention, Governor Cooper We, Are Called “Republicans” Not “Republic"

RALEIGH NC - On Monday, a reporter asked Governor Cooper if he would follow his own guidance and get a COVID test after attending a mass protest. Not surprisingly, Cooper completely dodged the questions revealing his epic COVID hypocrisy. Naturally, we responded with a press release highlighting his continued hypocrisy, and only after our release went public did Cooper agree to get a COVID test. 

Today, at his press conference answering questions about his plans to get tested for COVID, he said, “I will let the ‘Republic’ I mean the public know the results.” Apparently, our press release about Cooper’s COVID hypocrisy got to him.

“We know Cooper has been trapped in his mansion issuing decrees, but we’re Republicans, not the ‘republic,’” said NCGOP Press Secretary Tim Wigginton. “While we are glad that Cooper is finally following the orders he expects the rest of us to follow, we are still waiting to see the “science and data” he is relying on to keep North Carolina locked down while both Democrat and Republican states safely reopen.”
