Let’s Be Honest Cooper And Stein Are The Silent Captains Of The Hearse Parade Highlighting The Spikes In Murder
August 5, 2020
For Immediate Release
Raleigh, NC- On Sunday, Democrat Sheriff Gary McFadden and local funeral directors led a parade of hearses to highlight the recent violence that has engulfed Charlotte neighborhoods. A little more than halfway through 2020, Charlotte has 71 confirmed homicides this year compared to 62 for all of 2019. Meanwhile, many North Carolina Democrats continue to push to defund or “divert funds” from the police. Our State's top two law enforcement officials, Governor Roy Cooper and Attorney General Josh Stein are MIA and refuse to stand up for law enforcement.
“Governor Cooper and Attorney General Stein have the sacred duty to maintain law and order, yet they’ve been MIA while rioters torched cities and their allies have pushed to defund police departments while violence spikes, ” NCGOP Spokesman Tim Wigginton. “Cooper and Stein’s fellow Democrats and leftwing friends began pushing to defund the police 58 days ago, yet both have refused to oppose this dangerous effort. Republicans up and down the ballot are committed to defending the police and our communities while the Democrats' active support and silent complicity on the Defund the Police Agenda endangers all Americans.”
Democrats across the country and right here in North Carolina have been calling to defund the police. This dangerous idea has led to sweeping cuts across to police in Los Angeles, New York and Minneapolis. Right here in North Carolina, Democrats have defunded the police in Charlotte, Raleigh and Asheville. While liberal activists have pushed this dangerous agenda, Cooper and Stein continue to quietly ride the defund the police train by refusing to speak out and Defend Our Police when they need it most.
