ICYMI: Wallet Hub Study Ranks North Carolina #7 In Severe Lockdowns

For Immediate Release

Raleigh, NC - North Carolina ranks 7th in the nation for the most COVID-19 restrictions in a recent Wallet Hub study, only surpassed by the dark blue states of Massachusetts, California, Hawaii, Vermont, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

With all of Governor Cooper’s restrictions that have cost North Carolinian families their jobs, education and mental health, we still linger around the national average for cases and deaths per capita.

Governor Cooper’s recent veto of the bi-partisan SB37 signals he vows to double down on the Biden-led school closure agenda, disregarding the scientifically proven safety of returning kids to the classroom.

“These short-sighted restrictions are not saving lives; they are crushing Americans,” said NCGOP Press Secretary Livy Polen. “This study continues to highlight how extreme Governor Cooper’s COVID-19 lockdowns are while other states use the data to actually move forward. Cooper's focus should be on getting North Carolinians back to work, getting the economy back on track and returning kids to the classroom.”
