Chairman Whatley: Cunningham Needs To Release All His Text Messages

October 5, 2020
For Immediate Release

RALEIGH, N.C. - North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley today called on Cal Cunningham to release all of the text messages he has exchanged with Arelene Guzman Todd.

“North Carolinians deserve to know the full extent of Cal Cunningham’s misconduct with the wife of a military combat veteran,” said Chairman Michael Whatley. “If Cal Cunningham has nothing additional to hide, he should have no problem releasing all of the text messages he has exchanged with Arelene Guzman Todd. Cunningham needs to stop hiding in his windowless basement and answer questions about this serious issue.”

Since Cunningham confirmed Friday that he “sent text messages of a sexual nature to a woman who is not his wife,” he has retreated to his windowless basement and is ducking follow-up questions on the scandal. Despite Cunningham’s silence, his extramarital relationship has generated a firestorm of state and national attention.

Here’s what the media is saying about Cunningham’s “sexting” scandal.
