Cunningham Is Still In Hiding After His “Brutal,” “Evasive” Press Conference

For Immediate Release

RALEIGH, NC -- Cal Cunningham’s campaign has been reeling ever since his “brutal,” “evasive” press conference where he refused to answer whether or not he’s had multiple affairs with other women four separate times. Over a week ago the Raleigh News & Observer confirmed that Cunningham had a sexual relationship with the wife of a combat veteran as recent as July and is now under investigation by the U.S. Army Reserve. After these detrimental revelations, Cunningham has gone into hiding and avoiding members of the media because he knows his sex scandal proves that his entire campaign, which was centered around “truth and honor,” is utter hypocrisy.

Cunningham won’t leave his “windowless basement” and be transparent with the people of North Carolina because he doesn’t want to answer the questions below.

  • Will Cunningham explain why he chose to engage in an extramarital affair with a wife of a wounded combat veteran during the campaign, which included a tryst in Cunningham’s Raleigh home as recently as July?

  • How many extramarital affairs has Cunningham been engaged in? Why has Cunningham not denied the reports that he had an affair with a second woman, as claimed by an attorney who worked on Cunningham’s 2010 U.S. Senate campaign?

  • What is Cunningham’s response to the husband of his mistress calling on Cunningham to drop out of the race? Does Cunningham agree with Todd’s suggestion that “If elected, I can only imagine how misplaced his judgment would be for the people he’s charged to represent”?

  • Did Cunningham ever prosecute adultery cases as a JAG officer?

  • Did Cunningham use campaign money or resources to facilitate extramarital relationships?
