Judicial Activism Strikes NC Elections Once Again

Last year, when Governor Roy Cooper appointed Leftist political hack Darren Jackson to replace a conservative jurist on the N.C. Court of Appeals Republicans warned it signaled that Cooper will continue to play partisan games rather than work on solutions for the people of North Carolina. 

Regretfully, today we can say, “Told you so.”

The NCGOP is disappointed Judge Jackson is proving such concerns were well placed, as evidenced by his order to indefinitely delay candidate filing. This order is a transparent assist to Democrats who benefit from electoral uncertainty and false narratives at the direct expense of the North Carolina people.

The voters of North Carolina deserve elections that are orderly, reliable, and secure. Instead, Democrats and their allies on the bench like Judge Jackson continue to inject chaos into elections at a time when trust is already at historic lows.

We look forward to a judicial review of the merits of this case.
