Cal Jr. (Jeff Jackson) Sides With Union Bosses over Students and Parents

For Immediate Release

Raleigh, NC - Moments ago, Cal Jr. (Jeff Jackson)
voted AGAINST reopening North Carolina’s schools. The majority of North Carolina’s students are trapped in virtual classrooms.  Republican legislators have led the fight to safely reopen North Carolina schools. Study after study has shown schools can reopen safely and virtual school is failing students, especially disadvantaged students. Yet, liberal union bosses have fought efforts to reopen classrooms to students. Succumbing to pressure, Governor Cooper issued toothless guidance stating schools should reopen after Republican leadership filed legislation to open school doors.

“Cal Jr. claims he’ll listen to voices in all 100 counties, but his vote against reopening schools confirm that if elected he’ll follow marching orders from Chuck Schumer at the expense of North Carolinians,” said NCGOP Communications Director Tim Wigginton.“Just like a D.C. cookie-cutter, consultant driven candidate, Cal Jr. claims to support something that he is legislatively working against.”
