RALEIGH, N.C. - After weeks of dodging questions about Tara Reade’s claim that Joe Biden “pushed her up against a wall, reached under her skirt, and penetrated her vagina with his fingers” in 1993, Cal Cunningham finally came clean late Friday night and sold out #MeToo movement. When asked for comment by Politico on Reade’s allegations against Biden, Cunningham’s campaign said that Cunningham will still be supporting Biden for president because he “believes women should be heard and accusations taken seriously, which Cunningham believed happened in this case.”
Cunningham’s decision to back Biden without any further investigation of Reade’s claims is quite an evolution from when he was attending #MeToo rallies attacking Brett Kavanaugh.
“Cal Cunningham proved just how pathetically weak he is by tossing his own standards on believing women out the window for the sake of politics,” said NCGOP spokeswoman Sasha Duncan. “His willingness to sell out the #Metoo movement and his principles in order to protect Joe Biden should show North Carolinians that he’d sell out their interests in order to rubber-stamp Biden’s extreme liberal agenda in the Senate.”
