UPDATE: 10/27/24
The North Carolina Republican Party applauds action taken by the General Assembly to require additional Early Voting sites in Henderson County through Saturday, November 2.
In Henderson County, which currently has over 92,000 registered voters, the use of just one Early Voting site has needlessly frustrated residents who want to cast their ballots prior to November 5.
Those sites will be open from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tues., Oct. 29 through Fri., Nov. 1 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 2.
The locations are:
Fletcher Town Hall 300 Old Cane Creek Rd., Fletcher
Etowah Library at 101 Brickyard Rd, Etowah
N.C. Justice Academy at 234 St. Paul’s Rd., Edneyville
In addition, a site in McDowell County will also open from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tues., Oct. 29 through Fri., Nov. 1 and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 2. at the Old Fort Depot 25 W. Main St., Old Fort

The devastation inflicted on Western North Carolina by Hurricane Helene has broken our hearts. We’re in awe of the thousands of volunteers who have come to help in any way they can. From collecting donations and organizing search and rescue efforts, communities of faith and the private sector stepped up where federal and state governments seemed ill-prepared at best and negligent at worst. When our state is in need, our people deliver.
Ensuring that Western North Carolina voters in these areas are able to exercise their constitutional right to vote is paramount. To that end, we at the North Carolina Republican Party have held extensive meetings with the Trump Campaign, Republican National Committee, state legislators, and local leaders. We are united in our mission and are working closely together to engage and inform voters in Western North Carolina about how, when, and where to vote.
As President Trump has said for months, absentee, early in-person, and Election Day voting are all good options.

Earlier this year, the NCGOP launched a centralized voting information website, vote.nc.gop. Here, you will be able to look at all options available: how to request an absentee ballot, how to properly return a ballot, when and where to vote early, and the deadlines associated with each method.
Additionally, the Election Integrity Committee has been working for months to ensure that North Carolinians have trust in elections, the utmost confidence their ballot is protected, and to know their vote counts. That mission will not change as we use every available resource to ensure that Western North Carolina’s votes count. Already, we have taken action to defend early voting access.
The NCGOP successfully fought back against the NCSBE’s initial interpretation of the General Assembly’s Disaster Recovery Act Election provisions that would have forbidden any county to modify its Early Voting plan, including adding additional locations.
The Disaster Recovery Act was designed to aid recovery efforts and ensure continued access to the democratic process. The NCGOP took these concerns directly to the NCSBE, and the Board subsequently rescinded the guidance.
Republican leaders have made defending Election Integrity a priority. As we seek to help Western North Carolina voters cast their ballots, conducting elections with fairness and transparency is of utmost importance.
